A Night for the Cure!
A Night for the Cure is a grassroots fundraising event that benefits Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Several employees at Woodloch Resort, with some guidance and support from Bob, Joan & Brad Kiesendahl created this event to make a difference in the battle against breast cancer.
The Event is held annually at The Inn at Woodloch in October. The event is structured as a Tricky Tray with countless gift items that are donated by local individuals and businesses. All are welcome to join or donate! Individuals purchase tickets that they place in envelopes by the gifts they desire. After all the tickets have been placed, the drum roll begins as the host of the night calls out the winners!
Throughout the evening hors d’oeuvres are served; wine tasting is available along with a full cash bar. It is a night filled with a tremendous spirit & enthusiasm as we join together to fight cancer.

2011 Night for the Cure Re-Cap
Wow! What a successful night! Our best estimates are that there were close to 400 people who passed through the doors at some point (it felt like it!)! We DOUBLED what we raised from last year! Our proceeds will continue to be donated to Susan G Komen for the Cure in NEPA.
The success of the event is a tribute to the committee; those who donated; our volunteers & all who attended. The majority of the support & participation comes from the Woodloch Staff & their families. What a great feeling it is to know that we work with so many caring people who are willing to help others.
Willard MacLeary & Carol Spitzer shared words of inspiration & reminded us why we come together every year. Some day, we will beat this disease – I am confident!
There was a bit of a competition this year between departments at Woodloch – which department’s basket would create the most excitement measured by the number of tickets they garnered. The top three were as follows: The Most #1 The Main Dining Room with “The Lottery Wreath” #2 The Main Kitchen with “The Money Moose” and #3 The Inn/Main Front Desk “The Vera Bradley Travel Ensemble”. Congratulations & thank you to everyone who donated their talents & time to the cause – they were all wonderful & much appreciated.
On top of raising a substantial amount of $ for breast cancer, we all had a good time as is evident in the pictures “Doc” Mould snapped during the evening. I have been asked to with hold some fo the photos for obvious reasons….All in the spirit of charity!
Congratulations & thank you to all of you who came out for the “Night for the Cure”! Remember to get tested – early detection saves lives!
